Stargirl

Mary O'Connor
Class of 2014
English

"She was elusive. She was today. She was tomorrow. She was the faintest scent of the cactus flower, the flitting shadow of an elf owl. We did not know what to make of her. In our minds we tried to pin her to the cork board like a butterfly, but the pin merely went through, and away she flew." -Jerry Spinelli, Stargirl. I read Stargirl when I was in 4th grade, and the main character has inspired me to be the kind and generous person I have always wanted to be.
