Whippersnapper

Sarah Lutz
Class of 2017
Political Science

I chose this word for multiple reasons. The word whippersnapper means a young and inexperienced person who is considered presumptuous or overconfident. I am a quiet and soft spoken girl and often am underestimated. I have been told by even those close to me that I should give up on my dreams and hard work so I can fit into their preconceived notions. However instead of taking their doubts to heart, I embrace them. I recognize and admit I am inexperienced and often have absolutely no idea what I am doing. But that doesn’t mean I should give up! It is only through trying and living that one gains experience. No one can ever master everything in life, so really we all are whippersnappers.
